THE GRANADA HEALTH TECHNOLOGY PARK: AN ENGINE OF INNOVATION

The Health Technology Park (PTS) of Granada is on fire. Founded in 2002, it currently hosts more than 80 companies from the sectors of R&D&I in the fields of health and new technologies. The PTS offers state-of-the-art infrastructure, fostering collaboration between the prestigious University of Granada, industry and public administration, generating synergies and a favourable environment for scientific and technological progress. In short, in Granada, if you are not innovating, it is because you simply do not want to.
The PTS provides R&D&I support services in the biosanitary and technology sectors, including workspace and laboratories for both start-ups and established companies. It also offers advisory services in intellectual property, technology development and knowledge transfer, as well as access to a network of investors, business incubators and accelerators that enable the launch and scaling of innovative projects. In addition, it provides training services, along with shared facilities such as conference rooms and event spaces. If you have an innovative idea and want to take it forward, this is your place!
Some of the research, development and innovation centres based at the PTS of Granada include the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine “López-Neyra”, the Biomedical Research Centre, which houses the Institute of Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Nutrition and Food Technology, Biopathology and Regenerative Medicine, as well as the Biobank of the Andalusian Public Health System (BBSSPA). Other research entities located at the PTS include the Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research (GENyO), the Centre of Excellence for Research into Innovative Medicines in Andalusia – MEDINA Foundation, the Centre for Research and Development of Functional Foods (CIDAF) and the Advanced Multifunctional Centre for Simulation and Technological Innovation (CMAT)
The PTS of Granada has become a fundamental pillar for the development of biotechnology and health innovation. With its modern infrastructure, specialised services and the presence of high-level research centres, the Health Technology Park is playing a key role in strengthening the city’s economy, alongside Granada’s famous tapas, the Alhambra and the imposing Sierra Nevada mountain range. Its capacity to integrate basic and applied research, as well as public-private collaboration, makes the PTS a benchmark in the field of health research.
